Tonight Bailey, Mom and I went to Harper and Grace's baby dedication ceremony. It was Bailey's first time in church, and she was so peaceful! She waited until the ceremony was over to cry :). It was so sweet to be there with Bailey and mom, and we even got to sit by Missy and baby Brady. We are blessed to have friends who are raising kids beside us. We all need God's guidance and empowerment each day to love and care for our children. The ceremony was as much about praying for the parents as it was about the babies, which is so appropriate. It was special too because my mom has gotten to know Wade and Lauren and Harper so well! The Hanegans have been over several times when my mom has been here, and she loves them just like Wes and I do. Mom met Sarah too at my baby shower, so that was neat for her to see Sarah's sweet baby Grace! I'm reminded tonight of God's faithfulness and goodness. Cas and Gina sat in the audience tonight and I am so thankful that God has given them a baby- He has done it, and at such a sweet time. Bailey, Grace, Harper and baby Webster are all going to be so close in age.....Gina, you know that I could just burst I am so excited. Mom decided to stay another night so she could go with me to Bailey's doctors appointment with the GI specialist tomorrow at TCH. I'm so glad she has an appointment with a good doctor! I pray God would continue to heal her little body of whatever is causing her pain. She was so ready for bed tonight, I put her down wide eyed, and she was asleep within a few minutes. I love you sweet baby. As I rocked her tonight as she cried and clearly had a tummy ache, this song was in my head. I'm so glad for songs like this that give me perspective..... "It's all about you, Jesus. And all this is for you, for your glory and your fame. It's not about me, as if you should do things my way. You alone are God, and I surrender to your way." God help me surrender the big things and the small ones.
Here are some pictures from Bailey's first month in the world! She was born on December first and Wes and I are totally in love with our baby girl. The past two months have been a whirlwind! I never could have prepared for all of the emotions I would experience. I've been brought to tears many times.....happy tears, tears from exhaustion and tears because for a while there Bailey could not eat or sleep. After a trip to the ER, the doctors reassured me that my Bailey is thriving and healthy, but she has a tough case of reflux and colic. They prescribed me a lot of help, which has been filled by loving friends and family. Debbie (Wes's mom) has been a saint, sleeping over from time to time so I can sleep. My mom has been able to come up a lot too, and it has helped me rest and remember how blessed I am to have my dream come true- I have a precious baby girl who I am so in love with and who will grow out of her tummy troubles in time. Our favorite time of the day is the evening time- Bailey has her bath, which she LOVES, and then she gets in her miracle blanket and then I rock her till she is just about asleep. I know I need to cherish these times when she is so tiny and needs me so much.
I'll post more pics soon!
